This CD is a perfect example of what a wonderful guitarist Pedro Soler has been during his entire career. Whether accompanying the all-time great flamenco singers such as Nino de Almaden and Enrique Orozco, or playing his own improvosations, Soler's playing is dynamic, clean and faithfull to the strict rules of this complex art form. The artist's touch is lyrical and percussive which is demonstrated on two cuts in partucular, the title track, a taranta, and the zapateado al golpe in which Soler simulates a dancer's intricate heelwork with delightful rhythmic guitar playing. Soler is equally at home as a composer and interpreter of flamenco music as is indicated on another CD with cellist Renaud Garcia-Fons. Most of Soler's music recordings display his talents as an accompanist but his solo interpretations are flawless and he should be ranked with the all-time greats of flamenco guitar playing.
